Meet the Counselor Squad at GMS


Mr. Christian Cipollone, CSC

My name is Christian Cipllone. I am the school counselor at Garfield Middle School. I have been the school counselor at Garfield Middle School since 2004. I received my Bachelors degree from the State University of New York @ Old Westbury. After completing my Bachelors degree, I worked as a counselor in a Juvenile Detention Center in New York State. From these experiences, I decided to pursue a degree that would allow me to help children become more successful students, work with them to help them effectively deal with a variety of problems, and inspire them to do their personal best in their lives. I graduated from Long Island University   with my Masters in Education with a major in counseling. I am excited to work with all of the students and families at Garfield Middle School.

Ms. Brianna Ucci, CSC, SAC


My name is Brianna Ucci. I am the Student Assistance Coordination/Wellness Counselor.  I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Masters in School Counseling and a Post-Masters in Student Assistance Coordinator from William Paterson University.  I had the pleasure of interning at Garfield Middle School and became an Elementary School Counselor within the district since 2021.  I’m excited for this new chapter at GMS.  I’m committed to helping students reach their full academic and social emotional potential.  It’s fulfilling to see students grow and achieve their goals. My philosophy is solution focused, academic, career, social and emotional development.  I’m dedicated to make a positive impact on our student’s lives at GMS!

Ms. Lisa Porco, CSC

My name is Lisa Porco. Like a true Boilermaker, I grew up in Garfield and attended Garfield Public Schools until I graduated high school. After graduating high school I went on to receive my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology from Kean University. I also received a double Masters from NJCU in School Counseling in 2015. I have been a part of the Garfield Middle School family since 2017. As a school counselor one of my roles is encouraging all children to strive for their personal best to become an asset to our amazing community. Supporting my students in meeting all personal and academic goals is important to me as well. I am thrilled to  work with students, teachers, administrators, and parents.

Ms. Priscilla Kunz, CSC

My name is Priscilla Kunz. I am the Social Emotional Counselor (6-8th Grade School Counselor). I attended Felician University which I am proud to say paved the way for my professional success. I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s in Counseling Psychology. I had the pleasure to intern and start my career at Garfield Middle School. I have served as a school counselor for two years. My role as a school counselor has truly been rewarding. I have the pleasure to work with students, teachers, administration, and parents who thrive for success. My belief is to always encourage all students to strive to achieve their goals. I am fluent in English and Spanish.
